The rules for bridal wear, in some church or temple settings, require dresses that cover the shoulders, had no unseemly décolletage, and otherwise met standards of modesty and propriety.  If you prefer a more traditional gown, if your religious beliefs dictate rules of modesty, this is an appropriate dress.
